Tottenham Hotspur have once again stood firm in their resolve to keep hold of their star striker, Harry Kane, as they turned down a staggering £100 million bid from Bayern Munich. This marks the fourth time the London club has rejected offers for Kane, including an £86 million proposal just last week.
According to reports from journalist David Orstein, Bayern’s latest bid falls significantly short of Tottenham’s valuation for their captain, as it sits £25 million below the club’s asking price.
Despite the ongoing transfer saga, Kane remains under contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2024, having signed a six-year deal. The 30-year-old’s future has been a subject of intense speculation, especially after Bayern Munich set last Friday as the deadline for further negotiations.
In a recent friendly match against Shakhtar Donetsk, Kane showcased his goal-scoring prowess, netting an impressive four goals, which earned him a standing ovation from the Tottenham faithful.
As the Premier League season approaches, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou stressed the importance of finding a resolution regarding Kane’s future. The manager expressed the need to focus on the team’s preparations for their Premier League opener against Brentford on August 13, stating that they cannot afford to wait indefinitely for a decision.
“We can’t wait (around) for a decision either way to get going. We don’t have the time or the luxury to do that. I’m working with what’s in front of me. You saw today that Harry certainly is invested in what we’re doing, and we’ll keep on doing that unless something changes,” Postecoglou said in an interview with The Athletic.
While the transfer saga continues to unfold, Tottenham Hotspur remains committed to their preparations for the upcoming season, with a match against Barcelona next in the Joan Gamper Trophy on Tuesday.
