No fewer than eight travelers lost their lives, and 52 others sustained injuries in a tragic accident involving a trailer and a canter truck on the Potiskum-Nangere road in Yobe State.
The travelers were en route to the popular Potiskum cattle market when one of the trucks lost control.
According to an eyewitness named Adamu Hassan, the deceased have been taken to Potiskum Specialist Hospital, while the injured are being treated at the General Hospital in Sabon Garin, Nangere.
Although officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have yet to confirm the incident, they, along with the State Emergency Management Agency, were observed aiding in the evacuation of the victims to nearby health facilities.
