Tragedy as groom, bride’s sister die in road accident moments before wedding

In a devastating turn of events in the Boto area of Tafawa Balewa LGA, Bauchi State, a groom, Abba Musa, and the bride’s elder sister, Maryam Sulieman, tragically lost their lives just 30 minutes before the wedding ceremony.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that both individuals died in a car accident while en route from Murno—a community located about 5km from Boto—to the wedding.

Eyewitnesses described the incident as a profound loss that has plunged the entire community into grief. Saminu Boto, the groom’s brother, lamented, “It’s an unimaginable loss.

The entire community is mourning,” as relatives and friends struggled to deal with the tragedy.

The bride, Raihanatu Suleiman, along with her family, has been left in deep mourning, with the family home—once the center of wedding preparations—now transformed into a place of tears and sorrow.

Local residents have called the day one of the saddest in recent memory. Both victims were laid to rest shortly after the accident, following Islamic burial rites.
