Tragedy strikes Ore Town as explosion claims multiple lives

ORE, ONDO STATE – The peaceful commercial town of Ore in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State was plunged into sorrow on Sunday evening as a devastating tanker explosion resulted in the loss of several lives within the community.

Eyewitnesses reported that a tragic accident occurred along Showboy road, near a filling station in the area. Following the crash of a tanker truck, an alarming number of residents hurried to the scene with the intention of scooping petrol from the spilled fuel. However, disaster struck when a spark from a mobile phone ignited the fuel, causing a massive explosion.

According to John, an okada rider who witnessed the harrowing incident, over 15 individuals lost their lives in the ensuing inferno. Among the victims were three innocent children and a pregnant woman, whose lives were tragically cut short.

“After the truck crashed, people began to rush to the scene to scoop fuel. It was in the process that the truck exploded. Three children died, and we have counted over 15 bodies. A pregnant woman who wanted to buy fuel also died,” John disclosed.
