Train strikes, kills man on railway track in Lagos

On Monday, a man was struck and killed by a train on a railway track in Lagos, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, confirmed the incident in a statement.

Oke-Osanyintolu explained that the agency responded to a distress call about the accident near Cappa in Lagos around 6:00 PM.

Upon arriving at the scene, they found an adult male who had been hit by the train while walking along the track.

The victim, who was partially dressed and not yet identified, died instantly from the collision.

“The remains of the adult male have been bagged by the agency’s response team while awaiting arrival of the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit officials, for onward movement to the morgue,” he said.
