Transfer: Arsenal move to buy Barcelona forward, Depay

Arsenal are targeting a move for Barcelona forward Memphis Depay.

The Gunners are in desperate need of reinforcements up front with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both set to depart this summer.

Depay signed for Barca on a free transfer from Lyon last year and has netted 13 goals in all competitions this term, SPORT reports.

But despite starting the past four LaLiga games, the 28-year-old Dutchman has not always been a regular under Xavi.

His deal at the Camp Nou only runs to next summer, though there is the option to extend it by a year if the club see fit.

With the Gunners likely to miss out on Champions League football again on Sunday, their options are somewhat limited.

And they may face competition from other Premier League clubs too.
