Transfer: Arsenal offered to sign Benzema

Arsenal have been presented with the opportunity to sign Karim Benzema from Al-Ittihad during the current January transfer window.

According to MailOnline, the offer for Benzema was extended to the North London club earlier this month.

Despite the chance to secure the services of the veteran striker, Arsenal is currently contemplating whether to prioritize signing a ‘versatile defender’ before the upcoming transfer deadline next Wednesday.

Benzema, who has expressed a desire to depart from Al-Ittihad after spending less than a year in the Saudi Pro League, has been made available to various clubs across Europe, with Arsenal being one of them.

The former Real Madrid captain has attracted interest, and Arsenal, in their quest to strengthen their squad, particularly in the striker position, are actively exploring options this month.

However, their pursuit is somewhat limited by Financial Fair Play concerns, hindering their ability to swiftly secure their preferred candidate before the transfer window closes.
