Transfer: Chelsea told to sign Osimhen in January

Former Chelsea defender, Frank Leboeuf, is advocating for the Blues to pursue Victor Osimhen in the upcoming January transfer window.

Osimhen gained attention this week after Napoli shared a TikTok video mocking him for a missed penalty during last weekend’s 0-0 draw against Bologna.

In response, the forward deleted all of Napoli’s images and videos from his social media accounts.

The 24-year-old’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has also threatened legal action against Napoli regarding the TikTok post.

With less than two years left on his Napoli contract and extension talks stagnating, the Nigerian international might consider departing Napoli amidst the ongoing controversy. Leboeuf has urged his former club, Chelsea, to pursue the striker and bring him to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

“Chelsea need a striker and an experienced midfielder. I said last season that Mitrovic would be good – he’s not world-class, but he’s a leader and a fighter,” Leboeuf told Casinos En Ligne.

“Victor Osimhen is having problems at Napoli, and maybe Chelsea can go for him in January. There’s also Nantes’ Mostafa Mohamed – I think he could do a good job.

“Chelsea also needs help in midfield, someone like Toni Kross or Luka Modric. They may be older and not play as many games, but they could definitely serve the club well.”
