Imo State Police Command says it has arrested and detained three policemen who shot and killed a wedding guest, Oguzie Nmezi, during a stop and search along Umuaka/Orodo road, on Saturday, December 5.
According to reports, the deceased, who is an indigene of Amucha village in Njaba LGA was on his way to a wedding ceremony when the trigger-happy police officers allegedly shot him dead for refusing to stop.
It was gathered that the officers flee the scene afterwards, leaving the victim in a pool of his own blood inside his Car.
The command’s Spokesperson, Mr Orlando Ikeokwu, who condemned the killing of the Citizen, said the officers involved have, however, been identified, arrested and are presently in custody.
