Troops from the Nigerian Army, working alongside Volunteer Guards, have thwarted a kidnapping bid and freed two hostages in Benue State.

Acting on a distress call from the hideout of suspected kidnappers in Tsede Village, along Road Tor Donga Takum in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, soldiers swiftly moved to the scene.

They engaged the kidnappers in a fierce firefight, compelling them to flee, leaving their captives behind. Chief Sano Kursi and Augustine Sada, the rescued victims, emerged unscathed and have been reunited with their families.

In addition to the successful rescue, the troops seized significant weaponry, including an FN rifle, rifle magazines, and ammunition.

This operation underscores the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the region and underscores the importance of cooperation between security forces and local communities in combating criminal activities.
