Troops from the Joint Task Force Northwest have neutralized notorious bandit leader Kachallah Buzu, along with several of his fighters, in Zamfara State.
Zagazola Makama, a counterterrorism expert in the Lake Chad Basin region, revealed this in a post on his X handle on Friday.
Makama reported that the operation, carried out on the night of September 12 in Mayanchi village, followed a military ambush after receiving intelligence on the movement of the terrorists.
According to sources, the ambush resulted in the elimination of numerous bandits, including Buzu, their leader.
In addition to the casualties, troops also confiscated 30 motorcycles and a large cache of weapons, dealing a significant blow to the group’s operational strength.
“This victory marks a critical achievement in the ongoing fight against banditry in the Northwest,” Makama added.
