Troost-Ekong shines as Al Kholood edge Al Riyadh in five-goal thriller

William Troost-Ekong played a key role in Al Kholood’s 3-2 victory over Al Riyadh in the Saudi Professional League on Saturday.

The win marks a return to form for Al Kholood after their narrow 4-3 defeat to Al Ittihad in their previous outing.

Troost-Ekong, making his 19th league appearance of the season, helped stabilize his team as they fought back from an early setback.

Al Riyadh took the lead just one minute into the match through Ibrahim Bayesh, but Maolida equalized for Al Kholood in the 55th minute.

Hammam Al Hammami then struck twice, putting the hosts 2-1 ahead before adding another in the 77th minute to extend the lead.

Mohamed Konate pulled one back for Al Riyadh with two minutes left on the clock, but Al Kholood held firm to secure all three points.
