U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat from New York, has sharply criticized President Donald Trump as he marks 100 days into his second term in the White House.

Schumer described Trump’s initial months in office as a “living hell” for the American people, accusing him of presiding over the worst start to a presidency in modern history.

Trump, who was inaugurated for his second term as the 47th president of the United States on January 20, 2025, will complete his first 100 days on Tuesday, April 29.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account Monday morning, Schumer wrote:

“Donald Trump’s first 100 days as president have been 100 days from hell for the American people. His first 100 days have been the worst for any president in modern history.”

Schumer’s remarks come shortly after he praised a federal judge’s decision to temporarily block the Trump administration’s attempt to strip collective bargaining rights from employees across nearly a dozen government agencies and departments.
