Twitter ban: CBN under fire over tweet

The Central Bank of Nigeria is currently under fire after its first tweet following the return of Twitter in Nigeria.

The Nigerian government had placed a ban on Twitter since June 2021, after the microblogging site deleted a tweet by President Buhari.
However, the FG rescinded its decision on Wednesday after Twitter met its condition.
The development, IDOMA VOICE observed. sparked debate and mixed reactions among Nigerians.
While many see it as a bait ahead of the 2021 elections, others believe it was long overdue.
First Bank was among the first federal government institutions to announce its return on Twiter.
It tweeted, “It’s good to be back! #Cenbank #CBN #eNaira #CBNMPC.”
However, this tweet did not go down well with many Nigerians, who are blasting the apex bank.
