Two children killed, seven injured in Lagos-Abeokuta crash

In a devastating incident on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, two children died and seven others were injured in a single-vehicle accident involving a Toyota Camry on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway near Kere Itori.

Mrs. Florence Okpe, Spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, reported the incident occurred around 11:00 pm on Saturday.

The accident was attributed to speeding and an overloaded vehicle, with the car, bearing the registration AGL 36 JA, carrying more passengers than its capacity.

According to Okpe, the accident involved seven men, one male child, and one female child. Both children lost their lives, while the remaining passengers sustained various injuries.

The injured were transported to the General Hospital in Ifo, and the deceased were taken to the morgue. Okpe urged motorists to follow traffic rules and regulations to prevent such tragedies.
