Two die as building collapses in Kano

The Kano State Fire Service has reported that two individuals lost their lives in a building collapse in Nomansland Faage Local Government Area.

According to Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer for the service, rescue efforts have so far saved two people, who have been hospitalized, while the bodies of the two deceased victims have been recovered.

The collapse occurred early Thursday morning around 2 a.m. amid a heavy rainstorm.

The building’s collapse was attributed to the overflow of a nearby waterway, which impacted the structure.

The Kano State Emergency Management Agency revealed on Wednesday that recent flooding in the state has resulted in 31 deaths and the destruction of 5,280 homes.
