Two kidnapped immigration officers rescued in Benue–Taraba Border operation
Two abducted immigration officers have been rescued in a joint security operation led by Ukum Local Government Chairman, Hon. Jonathan Modi, working alongside the Nigerian Army.
The officers David James and Oliver Orasuur were freed after an intelligence-driven raid around Tembe and Adamawa villages in Adzendeshi Council Ward, days after their capture near the Benue–Taraba border.
Their kidnapping had heightened anxiety across the border communities.
Hon. Modi praised the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for what he called a “decisive and courageous” mission, saying it underscores the council’s commitment to safeguarding lives and restoring peace.
Local residents welcomed the news with relief, describing the successful rescue as a morale boost in the fight against frequent abductions and violent crime in the area.
