Two locally made pistols, four suspects arrested as NSCDC raid criminal hideouts in kwara

Two locally made pistols and hard drugs have been recovered by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) during a raid in Kwara.

This was contained in a statement signed and released on Friday by the spokesperson of the Kwara Command of the corps, Babawale Afolabi in Ilorin.

Afolabi said that the raid took place at Rore, Omu-Aran, Ifelodun Local Government Areas of the state.

According to him, four suspected criminals; Mr Olanrewaju Adesoye, 24; Mr Isaac Abraham, 28; Mr Tope Fadeyi, 33; and Mr Abdulateef Wasiu, 23, were arrested during the raid.

He said that two other members of the gang were still at large.

“On February 10, Officers of the NSCDC in Omu-Aran, acting on a tip off, raided hideouts of some criminal elements that have been terrorising the area in recent time.

“During the time of their arrests, two locally made pistols, five live cartridges, packets of tramadol, local charms, indian hemp and six mobile phones were recovered from the hideouts,” Afolabi said.

The spokesperson said that one of the suspects, Adesoye, who claimed to be a cobbler, admitted that the two guns and other items were recovered from them.

He said that the suspect, however, denied knowing anything about the guns, rather, one Ariyo, who was still at large, own the guns.
