Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced Osasere Agbonile and Odudu Otu as two new contestants voted in by viewers to join 16 others unveiled at the selection party on Sunday night for Gulder Ultimate Search season 12.
According to a statement by Corporate Affairs Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Sade Morgan, the new contestants emerged successful out of four remaining finalists.
“The four candidates were part of the 20 finalists who made it through the regional screenings but only 18 contestants have been chosen to participate in Gulder Ultimate Search 12,” Morgan said.
Agbonile and Otu will join 16 others earlier unveiled to the jungle to compete for the over ₦50 million prize, which is five times bigger than the prize of the last edition held in 2014.
She disclosed that over 12,000 fans voted in the online poll with Agbonile, a 32-year-old fitness trainer and model, polling 35.1% to come first.
Otu, a 22-year-old athlete, polled 31.5% of votes.
16 contestants earlier unveiled include – Damola Johnson, a 26-year-old Film director from Lagos, Mfon Mikel Esin, a 27-year-old Freelance writer from Akwa Ibom, Samuel Ishmael, 35-year old IT Expert from Ogun, Emmanuel Nnebe, 29-year old Paralegal from Anambra, Damilola Odedina, 25-year old Cinematographer, Solomon Yankari, 26-year old fitness Fitness Instructor from Bauchi..
Others include music artiste Olayinka Omoya, Godswill Oboh, Esitima Edem, Omokhafe Bello, Chidimma Okeibe, Jennifer Okorie, Tobechukwu Okoye, Gerald Odeka, Tosin Michael Emiola, Iniabasi Umoren.
The 18 contestants will now start their Gulder Ultimate Search 12 journey following the confirmation of the two additional contestants, as the show premieres on DStv and GOTV on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
Kunle Remi, 2010 Gulder Ultimate Search winner and top Nollywood actor, is the taskmaster for this year’s show.
The show will air twice a week from October 16 to Sunday, December 19, 2021, on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv channel 151), Africa Magic Urban (DStv channel 153) and Africa Magic Family (DStv channel 154 & GOtv channel 2) on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 pm till 9 pm.
