An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Tuesday remanded two men, Adeyinka Olodude, 21, and Raphael Babatunde, 22, in connection with an alleged murder.
The defendants, whose addresses were not disclosed, face charges of conspiracy and murder.
Magistrate Mrs. Gladys Oladele did not take the defendants’ pleas, citing lack of jurisdiction. She directed the police to send the case file to the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
The case was adjourned to December 10 for mention.
Prosecutor Sgt. Samuel Owolabi told the court that the two men, along with others still at large, were involved in the killing of 24-year-old Sulaiman Olayinka on October 3, at around 7:45 p.m. in the Ologuneru area of Ibadan.
Owolabi stated that the defendants allegedly stabbed Olayinka in the chest, resulting in his death.
The charges contravene Sections 516 and 316 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
