U-23 AFCON Qualifiers: Olympics Eagles beat Tanzania, get N1m from Ahmed Musa

The Under 23 side of Nigeria defeated Tanzania 2-0 to progress 3-1 on aggregate at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Saturday evening.

The Olympics Eagles were unlucky to concede an equalizer to Tanzania late in the first leg of the tie.

However, after a goalless first half in this second leg, Timileyin Ogunniyi broke the deadlock for the Dream Team in the 62nd minute with a well struck top court free kick.

Tanzania goalkeeper Aboutwaleeb Mshery was unfortunate to concede the second after his hand hit Success Makanjuola spot kick into the back of the net for an own goal and a 2 goal lead for Nigeria.

With the two-goal victory, the Dream Team will get a cash gift of N1 million from Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa after the Sivasspor star has promised the U23 boys of 500,000 Naira per goal before the game.

It is reported that the Guvnor, Ahmed Musa has redeemed his promise and has given 1 million Naira to the team.
