The camp of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is preparing to disseminate a multitude of propaganda to the Nigerian public disguised as state policies.
Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant to Atiku on Public Communication, made this claim in a statement released on Sunday. Shaibu stated that the recent misinformation surrounding the lifting of the UAE visa ban, which was inaccurately reported by President Tinubu’s media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, is just the “tip of the iceberg.”
Shaibu went on to allege that Tinubu has already appointed more than 15 media aides with the sole intention of promoting misinformation as a state policy, thereby diverting the attention of Nigerians from the significant hardships caused by his administration.
He further contended that part of President Tinubu’s strategy is to proclaim that his government has attracted foreign investments amounting to $100 billion and other unspecified investments while failing to provide crucial details.
Atiku’s aide asserted that Tinubu’s plan is to divert the focus of Nigerians away from the difficulties they have endured due to the actions of the current administration.
