Kylian Mbappe, the standout player for Paris Saint-Germain, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to overcome Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final later this month.
Mbappe made these remarks following PSG’s impressive 4-1 victory over Barcelona in the quarter-final second leg encounter on Tuesday.
However, the French captain acknowledged the challenge ahead, admitting that the semi-final clash against Dortmund will be tough, especially considering the familiarity both teams gained from their group stage encounters.
“We are very happy, we are very, very happy. We definitely wanted to win. We worked for six days with the idea that we were going to come here and win. And it’s the victory of a whole squad,” Mbappe told Canal+.
“And it’s one more step, one more step towards the final at Wembley. Now, we have a team, Dortmund. It’s very difficult because we have already played them in the group stage, but we will try to win the first match to start with.”
