Premier League club, Chelsea, have rewarded manager Thomas Tuchel with contract extension following Champions League victory.
The Blues disclosed this in a statement on their website Friday.
Tuchel joined Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain in January, replacing former Chelsea star and manager, Frank Lampard, who had a shaky run with the club languishing in tenth position on the Premier League table before he was axed.
Chelsea’s season was however salvaged under Tuchel who led the team to a fourth place place finish in the Premiership.
In 30 games with Tuchel in charge, Chelsea won 19 games in all competitions and also reached the finals of the FA Cup which they lost to Leicester City.
He also led Chelsea to its second ever champions League trophy.
With Chelsea’s Champions League victory, Tuchel became the first coach to lead two different teams to a Champions League finals.
