Caretaker Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Hon. James Oche has expressed optimism that, the establishment of the Homeland Defense Volunteer Organization in Ado will help in combating criminal activities while restoring law and order.
Hon. Oche who stated this on Thursday in Ulayi District of Ado Local Government while reacting to the crisis in the area that led to the killing of a young man earlier in the week, maintained that, it was painful loosing young, capable men to insecurity and remarked that, the Homeland Defense which was not new to Idoma land would help in subduing crime and advancing peace.
It could be recalled that, the Ado Caretaker Committee had, few days after its inauguration moved for the establishment of a security outfit to be known as the Homeland Defense Volunteer Organization in Ado Local Government.
Hon. Oche who highlighted security as one of the major concerns of his administration also noted that, security was key to the development of any society and promised to do all within his powers to protect the lives and property of the good people of Ado.
