Under fire Bemgba Iortyom withdraws statement against Chief Mike Onoja

WITHDRAWAL OF BENUE PDP’S REACTION TO REPORTED DECAMPING OF CHIEF MIKE ONOJA

Earlier today I had issued an official reaction regarding a decamping of Chief Mike Okibe Onoja from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) reported in the online edition of The Nation Newspaper.

In the report Chief Onoja was quoted as having disparaged the PDP and the State Government under the party’s control, and in line with our standard procedure, it became necessary for us to engage when after 48 hours there was no rebuttal from the chief.

However, following our engagement Chief Onoja issued a rebuttal to the report of his decamping and as well distanced himself from the comments credited to him which were adverse to the PDP and the administration of His Excellency, Governor Samuel Ortom.

The chief also got in touch with the top hierarchy of our gear party in the state maintaining strongly that the report in The Naion Online claiming his decamping was false and a fabrication, even as he expressed profound assurances of his highest esteem to the PDP and His Excellency the governor.

We hereby withdraw our reaction earlier issued on this matter.

Bemgba Iortyom,
State Publicity Secretary,
PDP, Benue State.
16/8/2020.
