University of Ilorin pre-degree student drown in hotel swimming pool

The dead body of a pre-degree student of the University of Ilorin has been found in the swimming pool of a hotel in the State.

It was learnt the incident happened at the Bekadims Hotel, located at Tanke Oke-Odo area, along the University of Ilorin main campus road.

It gathered that boy must have drowned in the swimming pool and the body discovered last Friday.

The spokesperson of the State police command, Mr Okasanmi Ajayi, in a chat with DAILY POST said, “investigation has been launched into the incident.”

He said, “so far, it is suspected that the boy must have drowned in the swimming pool at the Bekadims Hotel, located at Tanke Oke-Odo area, along the University of Ilorin main campus road.”

When contacted on Wednesday, the Director, Corporate Affairs Unit of the University of Ilorin, Kunle Akogun, said “I have no information about the incident.”
