Unknown gunmen abduct Taraba versity senior lecturer

A senior lecturer with the Taraba State University, Jalingo, Mr Benjamin Ezekiel has been kidnapped.

He was abducted by unknown gunmen in his residence at ATC near Grace Junior Academy in the early hours of Sunday.

Confirming his abduction to newsmen via a telephone interview, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP David Misal, said the Police is aware of the abduction and have put in place machinery to ensure his safe release from his abductors.

Also confirming the abduction, the Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Taraba state University chapter, Mr Linus William said the abductors came in their number, shooting sporadically in the air to scare his neighbours, before taking him away.

He added that the abductors took the Senior lecturer to an unknown destination.
Mr Linus further revealed that the abductors are yet to contact the family to know what their demands are.
