Unknown gunmen kidnap couple, one other in Edo

Gunmen have reportedly abducted a couple, identified as Mr. and Mrs. Inebo, in Fugar, the administrative headquarters of Etsako Central Local Government Area in Edo State.

According to DAILY POST, the suspected kidnappers also took one additional person, whose identity has not yet been confirmed.

SP Moses Yamu, the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that police operatives are actively searching the area to ensure the safe return of the victims.

“The police are on the trail of the kidnappers and will soon secure the release of the victims while apprehending the perpetrators,” he said.

Reports indicate that the couple was kidnapped on Sunday around 7 PM while traveling along the Fugar-Ekperi road after attending an event.

Additionally, it was reported that one of the victims managed to escape during the process of being moved from one location to another, leaving the couple behind.

A source, who requested anonymity, informed news outlets that local hunters are currently scouring the bush in an effort to rescue the abducted individuals.
