Update on fire outbreak in Ugbokolo, Benue

Executive Chairman of Okpokwu Local Government Area, Hon.Mrs Amina Audu today, visited the scene of the fire disaster that occurred at Odessassa, Ugbokolo, resulting to the burning of many shops and goods worth millions of naira.

Recall that a mysterious fire in the early hours of today engulfed shops located along old Enugu Otukpo Road from the gate of Holy Name Parish to Agboleke house Ugbokolo, causing wanton destruction and losses. Some classrooms belonging to LGEA primary school closed to the vicinity were also torched.

While sympathizing with the victims at the scene of the unfortunate fire incident, Mrs Audu expressed shock over the colossal destruction and losses caused by the inferno, promising that she would relate with the appropriate authorities in order to bring succour to the victims.

In a related development, Mrs Audu also paid a condolence visit to Mama Ifeoma at her residence to commiserate with her over the destruction of her shop and killing of her salesgirl by an oil tanker, expressing sadness over the accident and praying to God to give her the fortitude to bear the irreparable losses.
