Updates on Makurdi-Otukpo-Otukpa-Enugu Road dualization project [WATCH]

Motorists and commuters traveling along the Makurdi-Otukpo-Otukpa route to Enugu and the eastern part of Nigeria can look forward to smoother journeys, thanks to the ongoing dualization of the highway.

Recent findings by Idoma Television have shown that the 266.4-kilometer road project, which commenced in January 2024, is progressing steadily and on schedule.

During a visit by the Idoma Television team on New Year’s Eve, workers from the China Harbour Engineering Company, the firm overseeing the construction, were seen diligently working on-site, even during the holiday period.

In Olanyega Edumoga, located in Okpokwu Local Government Area, the contractors have made significant progress, beginning the laying of the stone base on the road.

Several workers on-site expressed their appreciation to the local community for fostering a conducive environment for the construction activities, which has facilitated the project’s smooth operation.

The road dualization project is funded through a collaborative partnership between the Nigerian Federal Government and the Export-Import Bank of China.
