Vice President Kamala Harris has officially conceded the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump, following confirmation of the final results.
Harris made the call to Trump hours after the race was called, congratulating him on his victory while delivering a cautionary note. According to reports from The Daily Mail, she underscored the importance of a peaceful transition of power and urged Trump to serve as a president for all Americans.
Later today, Harris is expected to deliver a formal concession speech at Howard University, where she will address the nation.
The White House also confirmed that President Joe Biden reached out to both candidates. In his conversation with Trump, Biden emphasized “the importance of working to bring the country together” as a new administration prepares to take office.
