US election result: Trump celebrates as GOP takes control of senate

Former President Donald Trump celebrated a significant GOP victory as Republicans claimed control of the Senate, addressing his supporters early Wednesday morning.

“America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate. We have taken back control of the Senate – wow, that’s good,” he told the cheering crowd. CNN has projected this Republican win, marking a notable success for the party.

While votes are still being counted in several states, CNN reports that Trump needs only four more electoral votes to secure the presidency.

Trump highlighted the Senate wins across key states, saying, “The Senate races in Montana, Nevada, Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania were all won by the MAGA movement; they helped so much.”

He added, “The number of victories in the Senate was absolutely incredible.”
