The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially closed registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

A total of 2,030,627 candidates have registered to take the exam scheduled for April 25, 2025.

JAMB announced that the registration window, which opened on February 3, 2025, ended on March 8, 2025—without any extension this time.

In its Monday weekly bulletin, the board confirmed that with registration now closed, full preparations for the annual exam are underway. (Note: This figure excludes candidates registered at foreign examination centers.)

Additionally, 200,115 candidates have shown interest in the optional mock UTME, slated for April 5, 2025, with 630 of them already signed up for a trial session on the same day.

The bulletin stated: “This year, the Board has implemented several innovative measures to deter cheating and uphold the integrity of the examination process.

These measures have already led to multiple arrests of candidates using forged A-level results for admission, proving the effectiveness of our new fraud detection system. Candidates are strongly advised to adhere to the examination rules and refrain from any dishonest practices.”
