IDOMA VOICE gathered that vehicles worth millions of Naira were destroyed by the inferno.

The cause of the fire outbreak was yet to be ascertained as at the time of filling this report.

According to an online user, Morgan Adikwu, who shared the news on his Facebook page, Fire Service who arrived some couple of minutes later, battle the fire for over 15 minutes before they were able to make some progress.

“Fire service has been here for 15 minutes now still battling with the fire,” he wrote via the comment section of his earlier post.

He had earlier posted: “Fire outbreak in New Garage Wadata, the services of fire Service is highly needed.”

He went on to inform in a later post on Thursday night that the fire outbreak was a great disaster adding that though no life has been reportedly loss, properties worth millions of naira were destroyed.

Adikwu wrote;

“NEW GARAGE FIRE OUTBREAK

Truly fire is one of the dangerous disaster. Fire Service has been able to put off the fire outbreak at New Garage in Wadata, Makurdi local government of Benue State, with the support of the community people. Though no life has been reportedly loss but properties worth millions of naira destroyed.

The Fire Service needs to improve on its interventionist approach and method, so as to be proactive and not to be confused in its strategies with the mundane stories of pipe got punctured, how to connect the pipes, misplacement of pumps and other unprofessional lapses.”
