VERIFICATION: Did 2face Idibia impregnate Lagos banker?

The social media space was on Tuesday awash with the news that popular singer, 2Baba (2face) Idibia, has impregnated a Lagos banker.

The story was shared by Instagram blogger, Gistmerchant who alleged that his recent act is the reason behind his apology message to fans and family.

The report has since been lifted by several blogs, including Gistreel.

DID TUFACE IMPREGNATE A LAGOS BANKER?
Findings by IDOMA VOICE have shown that the story of Tuface impregnating a Lagos banker first broke out in 2014.

The report was first published by Icon Weekly, a soft sell magazine.
The 2014 report, identified the lady as Teniola, was said to be a staff of a new generation bank.

2FACE IDIBIA’S MANAGEMENT DEBUNKED REPORT

960 Music Group – 2Face’s management later released a statement refuting the reports. He later sued the publication for N100 million.

ICON WEEKLY APOLOGIZED TO 2FACE IDIBIA OVER “ADULTERY WITH LAGOS BANKER” REPORT
His management got a letter of apology from the publication, retracting the story.
“We admit that we failed to verify the source or contact your team (960Media Group) for a response before printing the fabricated story. We have since discovered that the story was and regret the embarrassment it has caused you and your family.”

CONCLUSION
The trending report is false and misleading.
