A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to social media influencer and blogger Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman.

After spending nearly three weeks in detention, Otse was released from police custody on Monday upon meeting his bail conditions.

However, the specific details of these conditions remain unclear.

A viral video on X captures the moment VeryDarkMan walked towards his fans following his release. Additionally, popular Nigerian blogger Tunde Ednut confirmed Otse’s release in an Instagram post.

He wrote: “THIS MORNING: VeryDarkMan seen in court this morning. Bail has been granted to him, and arrangements are currently being made. He will be home once he finishes that.”

Previously, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, the Federal High Court in Abuja had remanded Otse on cybercrime charges. According to police charge sheets, VeryDarkMan faced five counts of cyberstalking, including allegations that he posted videos on his Instagram account, ‘VeryDarkBlackman,’ which contained information deemed “grossly offensive, pornographic, or of an indecent, obscene, or menacing nature.”

Further details will be provided as they become available.
