Napoli’s striker, Victor Osimhen, is making it clear that he will only consider signing a contract extension with the club if his annual salary is increased to a staggering N8 billion.
Osimhen made his move to the Serie A club two years ago and played a pivotal role in their triumphant title-winning campaign last season, ending a 33-year drought. The Super Eagles star displayed his goal-scoring prowess by netting 26 goals in the league and an additional five in the Champions League, guiding Napoli to their first-ever quarterfinals appearance.
During the summer transfer window, Osimhen attracted attention from top clubs such as Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, signaling his immense value in the football market.
While Napoli is eager to retain the striker and secure his services for an extended period, they intend to prolong his contract until the summer of 2027. Currently, Osimhen earns a substantial €6 million (equivalent to N6 billion) per year. However, Napoli aims to enhance his earnings by offering a salary of €7 million annually.
Nevertheless, reports from Tutto Napoli indicate that Osimhen is holding out for an even more lucrative deal, as he demands a substantial increase in his salary to €8 million (approximately N8 billion) per year before agreeing to the contract extension.
