Victor Osimhen up for 2023 FIFA Player of the Year award

Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has earned a nomination for the 2023 Best FIFA Player of the Year accolade.

The Nigerian sensation finds himself in esteemed company, sharing the nominations with Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Kylian Mbappe in the men’s category of the award.

The recipient of this prestigious honor will be determined through votes cast by an international panel comprising national team captains, coaches, journalists, and fans from around the globe. The announcement of the winner will take place during the FIFA The Best Awards ceremony on January 17, 2024.

Osimhen was previously nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award, adding to his growing list of accolades and recognitions in the world of football.
