Vigilante fatally shot by gunmen in Delta

Tragedy struck in the early hours of today when unidentified gunmen opened fire, resulting in the death of a vigilante member in 1st Marine Gate, situated within Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to information gathered by DAILY POST, the armed assailants engaged the vigilant team in a fierce gunfight. The vigilante group, overwhelmed by the superior firepower of their attackers, saw some of its members fleeing the scene in a bid to escape harm. Regrettably, one member lost his life during the exchange of gunfire.

Onlookers and residents in the vicinity witnessed the lifeless body of the deceased, which lay at the scene of the incident, covered with a white cloth.

As of the time of this report, specific details surrounding the incident remained scant.

In response to inquiries, DSP Bright Edafe, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, pledged to gather further information from the division overseeing the incident’s jurisdiction.
