Volunteer group pledges support for Senator Abba Moro

A sociopolitical and volunteer group known as VOTER 2 VOTER, on Sunday, endorsed and pledged their support for Senator Abba Moro’s second term bid. The group cuts across the Nine LGAs of Benue South Senatorial District.

During their visit to the Senator in his Otukpo residence, the Zonal Coordinator of the group, Emmanuel Okoh, said they had taken the giant step to queue behind the Senator. He said they did a research and found out that Senator Moro is an illustrious son of the Zone who has impacted lives positively right from when he served as LGA Chairman to when he served as Minister and now as a Senator.

His words, “Distinguished Senator Sir, we are here to thank you for all you have been doing for us in the Senate. You have never failed to live up to expectations and we are so proud of you.

“The mission and vision of this group is to see your victory. We will galvanize support for you from across the Nine LGAs of Benue South. You have done well and deserve a second term without stress. We are here to endorse you and and publicly pledge our loyalty to you even beyond 2023.

“We will leave no stone unturned to ensure that you get victory both at the primaries and general election.”

The Oju Coordinator who spoke on behalf of the Oju/Obi federal Constituency said anyone contesting the Senate seat with Senator Abba Moro was wasting his time and resources, considering the Senator’s outstanding performances. He said would work with other stakeholders in the federal constituency to secure victory for the Senator.

Ogbadibo Coordinator said they were all out to ensure victory for the Senator. He said the Senator had outperformed expectations and called on all and sundry to join in the campaign for his return to the Senate to continue with his good works.

In his goodwill message, the PDP Zonal Chairman, Hon. Godwin Owulo, thanked the group for the solidarity with the Senator. He said if conspiracies against the Senator are allowed to materialize, it’s the people that would lose.

His words, “Abba Moro is working and working so hard. Nobody changes a working team.

“What is anybody going to use against the Senator, seeing his massive achievements in a very short time? If anybody comes to tell you anything against Abba, ignore the person; Don’t listen to them. We cannot exchange pounded yam with cassava food.

“Abba is heard so clearly all over the place and we are always with him.”

In his remarks, the Ado Council Chairman, Hon. James Oche, acknowledged the Senator’s sterling performances and said he was very satisfied with him. He said there’s no vacancy for the Senate seat in Zone C, stating that the Senator would be returned.

Responding, Senator Moro said he was humbled by the visit and all the good things said about him.

He said, “I’m so humbled by your presence and all the good things you have said about me. I’m grateful that you have volunteered to campaign for me to win my re-election. I thank you for appreciating the much I’m doing even though I don’t do things for people for gratification.

“God has assisted me without any precondition, so I won’t give condition for assisting people. My strength lies in you. Every pronouncement I make or whatever I do is because of the support you have given me.

“Whatever I’m doing today is only giving back to you who have made me who I am. For you to volunteer on your own to re-elect me to continue with what I’m doing, I want to say ‘Thank you’.

“I see you as a foundation for my second term. Let your action not end here, let it continue, down to your villages and community. You say I’m doing well but I want to say that I will do better if re-elected. Re-double your effort because I believe I will not fail despite any obstacle.

“I’m not in politics by accident, I’m in politics for you and not any personal gains. When politicians come to you to speak ills of me, ask them for their antecedents, viz a viz what they have done for our people. If they can’t convince you with evidences, please ignore them.

“I welcome all of you and I promise that things will continue to get better. I may not have reached everybody individually but collectively, we have all benefitted and I will continue to serve you.

“God bless you for coming.”
