the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) disclosed that approximately 1,500 Palestinian terrorists have been killed within Israeli territory since Hamas initiated its cross-border assault on October 7. IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht reported that the security forces had largely regained control over the Gaza border, with no Palestinian terrorists crossing into Israel from Gaza since Monday night. Hecht issued a warning regarding potential future infiltrations and advised Gazans to leave the Strip amidst escalating hostilities.

“The Rafah crossing [with Egypt] is still open. Anyone who can get out, I would advise them to do so,” Hecht urged.

However, a revised directive was later issued by the IDF, clarifying that the Rafah crossing, initially reported as open, was now closed. The IDF emphasized that there was no official call by Israel for residents of the Gaza Strip to exit into Egypt.

The IDF continued its offensive on Tuesday, striking Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip as the conflict, ignited by Hamas’ attack on Israel, reached its fourth day. The military targeted an underground tunnel shaft and other Hamas assets utilized to infiltrate Israeli territory. Air Force fighter jets attacked a mosque housing a Hamas operations and command center, coordinating the recent Iran-backed assault. Additionally, widespread strikes were carried out against weapons depots and various terror infrastructure.
