Mrs. Engonga, the wife of Baltasar Engonga, Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) in Equatorial Guinea, has become a trending topic on social media following the recent leak of a private video involving her, which surfaced just days after a separate scandal involving her husband.
Reports indicate that Mr. Engonga has been accused of using office surveillance equipment to record over 400 personal encounters with various individuals, including public figures and high-profile individuals connected to the presidential circle. The videos, reportedly captured in both office settings and other locations, were recently leaked, generating significant online attention, particularly on Telegram and X (formerly Twitter).
According to local media outlet Ahora EG, the revelations have created a substantial scandal within Equatorial Guinea. The former ANIF Director General, commonly referred to as “Bello,” allegedly recorded multiple private encounters, some involving high-profile and influential individuals, leading to widespread public discussions on the matter.
The report notes that some footage was reportedly filmed in Mr. Engonga’s office, even featuring scenes with national symbols in the background. In response, government officials have voiced intentions to address the incident by reinforcing expected standards of conduct for public officials.
