We are here to beat Super Eagles – Sao Tome captain

Sao Tome and Principe captain, Luis Leal, has confidently declared that their mission in Uyo is to defeat the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The True Patriots approach the game with a strong sense of pride, even though they are already eliminated from contention for a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. In their previous encounter in the qualifiers, Adriano Eusebio’s team suffered a crushing 10-0 defeat at the hands of the Super Eagles.

Sao Tome have faced a challenging journey in these qualifiers, conceding 20 goals while managing to score just three in five games. Nevertheless, Leal has expressed his belief that this time around, the True Patriots will achieve victory and leave the Super Eagles humbled.

“We are here to thrash and humiliate the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo,” he boasted.

Sunday’s game at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo will kick-off at 5pm.
