The people of Igede speaking part of Benue State have strongly rejected the proposed new Idoma traditional attire.
IDOMA VOICE reports that the Och’Idoma, HRM Elaigwu Odogbo, had proposed a new traditional wear for Idoma natives outside the red and black, which had been in existence before he was born.
The royal father made the proposal while speaking at the just-concluded Idoma Association convention in the US.
The proposed attire will now include the white and blue colours of the Igede people.

While the proposal has suffered a heavy rejection among Idoma natives, the people of Igede have also kicked against it.
Some of them insisted that they are not Idoma and therefore, forcing the Idoma culture on them is unfair.
