Everton forward Alex Iwobi has said both foreign and local based players are eager to prove a point in the Super Eagles, as they get set set to fave Mexico in an international friendly game on Saturday.
After missing the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs with the Black Stars of Ghana, Iwobi is making a return to the team.
And speaking ahead of the friendly against Mexico, Iwobi said every player is giving 100 per cent in training and hopes for a positive result.
“Everybody is psyched up for the game, it’s another opportunity to represent your country,” Iwobi said in an interview on NFF TV.
“It’s been a while I’ve been playing because obviously I missed the World Cup qualifiers but I’m back again.
“It’s not just me that is hungry, the local players are hungry to prove a point so we are going to represent and do our best for the country hopefully we will get the result that we want.
“It’s been very good everyone is here to impress and everyone is giving 100 per cent. It’s our first time with the new coach and the staff, we are warming into their ideas but it’s still early stages but we are enjoying our time so far, we just have to make sure it continues this way to keep this unity and chemistry going.”
After today’s friendly, the Eagles will also face Ecuador on June 2nd.
