The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that it will not refund the N100 million paid for the presidential nomination form rejected by Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor.
“Forms purchased are not refundable. Period. It’s traditional for political parties across the world that once you have paid for nomination forms, you cannot come back and ask for a refund,” APC spokesperson Felix Morka told Peoples Gazette Sunday evening.
Mr Emefiele came under intense public ridicule since news broke on Friday that he had purchased the presidential nomination form of the ruling party.
“I am humbled by the growing interest of those asking that I run for the office of president in the 2023 general elections. I have not come to that decision,” Mr Emefiele tweeted on Saturday.
