What a journey: CAF pays tribute to Oparanozie after retirement

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has expressed its appreciation for Desire Oparanozie upon her retirement from professional football.

Oparanozie took to her social media handle, X, on Wednesday to announce her retirement from the sport. This announcement has garnered reactions from both current and former football players.

In response to her retirement, CAF lauded Oparanozie’s remarkable football career, describing it as outstanding. The continental football governing body conveyed its sentiments through a post on X.

“An outstanding professional football career path has come to an end for the amazing Desire Oparanozie .

“What a journey! .”

Desire Oparanozie’s final appearance for the Super Falcons occurred during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

This marked her fourth consecutive World Cup participation, following her involvement in the 2011, 2015, and 2019 editions.
