What Apostle Johnson Suleman said about Gov Ortom, Benue
By Jimin Geoffrey
General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Suleman Johnson has lauded Governor Samuel Ortom for choosing to defend his people instead of position or office, stressing that such attribute was very rare among leaders in the World.
He stated this today at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi during a courtesy visit on the Governor.
The man of God noted that many leaders would prefer to defend their seats and positions at the expense of their people in such situations, pointing out that the path Governor Ortom took was capable of costing him his second term election but he never bothered.
He stated that it was worrisome that Nigeria was going through a topsy turvy situation but a section of those at the corridors of power had decided to handle sensitive issues with kids gloves, while people who have chosen to speak out were being blackmailed through various means.
Apostle Suleman said if there was anytime Benue people needed to appreciate Governor Ortom, it is now, pointing out that he was proud of the Governor and would continue to support him and people of the state through prayers and other forms of support.
Governor Samuel Ortom acknowledged the support of the man of God through prayers especially his cash donation of five million naira for the upkeep of Internally Displaced Persons in the state, describing him as a true friend of the state.
He stated that what befell Benue State was displacement and occupation of the land and not for grazing as misquoted in some quarters, stressing that Benue would not accept open grazing, grazing reserves, Ruga or anything close to the aforementioned as they all conflict with the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law of the state.
The Governor while praying God to guide and protect Apostle Sueleman as he continues to voice out against the ills in the society said he had come to execute God’s divine mandate over Benue and is always excited when men of God come visiting with encouraging words.
