The Benue State deputy governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the forthcoming 2019 general election, Amb. Dr. Dickson Akoh, has on behalf of the State Working Committee of the party, and its governorship candidate, Dr. Stephen Hwande, commiserated with the people and government of Benue State, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the death of seven of its members on Friday afternoon in a fatal motor accident at Ojinebe for the flagging off of the Zone’s campaign in Obagaji, Agatu local government area of the State.
Amb. Dickson Akoh stated Saturday evening at his Ogoli-Ugboju country-home while playing host to some SDP members and well-wishers who paid him a courtesy call at his Ogoli-Ugboju residence, NNR reports.
Akoh, who said only God can avert such an ugly incident, enjoined party supporters to exhibit calmness during electioneering campaigns, especially during rallies.
He cautioned the good people of Idoma land and Benue State in general not to politicise such incident but rally round the bereaved families to comfort them in their moments of grief.
Akoh said his heart and prayers are with the government and the people of Benue State, the good people of Oju local government, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Comrade Abba Moro over the unfortunate incident.
